Do Infants dream of placental sheep?

Watching my boy on the first night of his life, i was left wondering about a few things. I wondered about why nurses feel the need to use language that is guaranteed to freak a child’s father out. I heard such gems as ‘these little veins keep blowing everytime we try to get the IV in’ or ‘he’s just a little undercooked’. Now, i’ve gotten used to those, after two weeks in NICU while Oscar was pulling himself together, but I’m still left with one nagging, irritating unknown.

What was he twitching about?

Eyes closed and never opened. Sleeping and twitching. What exactly was he dreaming about. Maybe he’ll tell me in a few years when he reads this.
